The Technische Universitst Berlin (TU Berlin) has announced the
launch of its first international campus in El-Gouna on the Red Sea in Egypt.
The new campus, a result of the cultural agreement between Egypt and Germany,
will start its academic year on 1 October 2012.
The TU Berlin Campus El Gouna is a non-profit private-public
partnership, founded in collaboration with Orascom Hotels and Development. The
TU Berlin Campus El Gouna will serve as a hub for scientific research in the
Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with a firm commitment to providing
regional scientific solutions through specialized postgraduate programs,
especially in the field of applied technologies for sustainable
development.
The TU Berlin Campus El Gouna will offer Master's of Science
degree in three technology majors in areas of prime relevance to Egypt. These
include Energy Engineering, Water Engineering, and Urban Development. Each
program hosts 30 students per year over four semesters; and faculty professors
from TUB will teach all courses in English.
Further master programs, including Management and Business Plan Formulation, Logistics, Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, and Vocational Training are possible options currently under discussion.
