Franklin University launches first EMBA in Oman

The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) in partnership with the Franklin University (Columbus, Ohio, US) have launched a part-time MBA programme in the sultanate.

“This programme will allow working professionals to leverage their strengths while increasing their ability to think about how the world of commerce operates,” David Decker, president, Franklin University, said.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Badr el Din A Ibrahim, dean of MCBS, said, “The comprehensive theory to practice curriculum emphasises on analytical, contemporary business communication skills and social responsibility, allowing students to build a foundation of practical strategies and adaptable management skills which are required in the ever-changing job market.”

Dr Muneer bin Mohammed al Maskery, the founder and executive chairman of MCBS, lauded the launch of the programme.The course is designed to offer a flexible study programme for graduates and professionals. It will be delivered both online and on campus four times a week by lecturers from Franklin University and MCBS.

The programme comprises a general MBA, which covers ten courses and will take approximately one year to complete. "This is the first American MBA programme to be offered in the sultanate.

"Students interested in specialising in finance or human resources will need to take three additional courses in the respective area," said Jean Doyle, marketing manager and business lecturer, MCBS. H E Dr Richard J Schmierer, the US Ambassador to Oman officiated the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Second Pakistani University opens in UAE

Abasyn University RAS AL KHAIMAH, (UAE): One more Pakistani University has started its operations in Ras Al Khaimah with a mission to provide good quality affordable education for Pakistani families living in UAE. Name as “Abasyn University ”, the new educational platform will offer degree courses to the 800 to 1,000 pupils who comes out of Pakistani high schools in the UAE every year.
