Teachers Day celebrated

The Ministry of Education (MoE) celebrated Teachers’ Day on Friday and in a statement stressed on the importance of keeping pace with the latest developments in the field of education. 


In the statement, H E Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed bin Nassir al Shibaniyah, the Minister of Education, said that the education sector is witnessing a paradigm shift in the methods it employs in imparting education and in its objectives. And she stressed that the teachers has a large role in educating a generation that has knowledge and good morals.


“The MoE is adopting well-researched plans for developing the educational process and achieving national objectives in accordance with the teachings of Islam and inculcating Omani values,” she said.


H E Madeeha noted that teachers are the main drivers of development in a country and hence they must always be proud of their job and their contribution to society. She congratulated the teachers and workers in the sector for their role in academic, social and cultural upbringing of Omani youth.


“Oman has implemented projects to enhance the quality of education and modernise the system to create well-qualified citizens,” she stated. “With the dawn of the Blessed Renaissance, education has been accorded top priority,” she said, adding that His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said stressed on the importance of education in the development of Oman. 


H E Madeeha urged every teacher to be ready to put in more effort for the development of education. She said that her ministry will try its utmost to create opportunities for Omani youth to qualify themselves.

Second Pakistani University opens in UAE

Abasyn University RAS AL KHAIMAH, (UAE): One more Pakistani University has started its operations in Ras Al Khaimah with a mission to provide good quality affordable education for Pakistani families living in UAE. Name as “Abasyn University ”, the new educational platform will offer degree courses to the 800 to 1,000 pupils who comes out of Pakistani high schools in the UAE every year. Previously Szabist University in Dubai was the only Pakistani university in the emirates. Abasyn’s Ras Al Khaimah centre is its overseas branch campus.
