GLASGOW UNIVERSITY TO TRAIN OMANI STUDENTS

Glasgow University may soon train Omani students in Engineering specializations like flight engineering and biological specializations like nanoengineering. The decision has been made in a meeting between H E Dr Rawiyah bint Saud al Busaidiyah, Minister of Higher Education and Prof Ann Anderson, vice principal and head of Social SciencesCollege at Glasgow University. During the meeting both have discussed about the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to begin various academic programmes.
H E Dr Rawiyah discussed sending Omani postgraduate and undergraduate students to study engineering specialisations like flight engineering and biological specialisations like nanoengineering.The meeting reviewed the nature of cooperation with MajanCollege in MSc in organisational management course that aims to develop administrative work force in the sultanate.
It also discussed increasing the number of programmes offered at Majan College and include Translation and Teaching English as a Foreign Language course. Glasgow University is one of the largest and oldest Scottish universities in the UK. It is a member of Russell Group. As a collegiate university, it comprises around 20 UK universities and was opened in Glasgow in 1451.
The meeting was attended by professors James Connery and Graham Donaldson from Glasgow University, Nasr al Hosni, Maha Qubail and Nabila al Maki from Majan College and Sayyida Aliya al Busaidiyah, director of international relations at the Ministry of  Higher Education (MoHE), Hamad al Balushi, director general of scholarships and Saida al Subhiya, H E Dr Rawiyah’s advisor.

Second Pakistani University opens in UAE

Abasyn University RAS AL KHAIMAH, (UAE): One more Pakistani University has started its operations in Ras Al Khaimah with a mission to provide good quality affordable education for Pakistani families living in UAE. Name as “Abasyn University ”, the new educational platform will offer degree courses to the 800 to 1,000 pupils who comes out of Pakistani high schools in the UAE every year. AUS helps rebuild Iraq’s higher education
