The College of Arts and Sciences at Abu Dhabi University has launched a new programme in Mass Communication at Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses.
The new B.A in Mass Communication offers students the choice between three areas of concentration- Print Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, and Strategic Communication.
ADU chancellor Dr Nabil Ebrahim explained that new programme, which is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, was designed after thorough monitoring of the labour market needs.
The university aims to provide students with the specialised skills they need to excel in the fast-paced field of mass communication.
Dr Ebrahim added that the programme will to equip students with an in-depth knowledge of the theoretical and conceptual and enable them to work effectively for a variety of careers in its related fields.
Dr Radwan Al Jarrah, Dean of ADU’s College of Arts and Sciences said the programme will be offered in English however media writing courses will be bilingual so graduates are skilled and specialised to meet the demands of any media organisation.
