Taiwanese companies could help with vocational training across a range of engineering fields - even starting with training Omanis at Voltamp's new Sohar plant, according to Jackson T C Lee, representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Muscat.
In the second Taiwanese joint venture in the GCC, Voltamp has linked up with Taiwanese electronics and engineering company Tatung to provide both technology and manpower for Voltamp's new RO11mn factory.
Speaking at the Taiwanese National Day celebrations, Lee told that the tie-up could open the door for further co-operation between the two companies in vocational training.
“If they want to co-operate with Tatung in vocational training, they can help with more efficient Omani manpower to satisfy Omanisation needs. “Maybe in future we could reach out and provide this training across all engineering fields, so we could even hopefully provide a manpower help-centre."
