First American MBA college in Oman

The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) is going to launch the first American MBA programme in Oman. The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) has entered in a tie-up with FranklinUniversity (Columbia,Ohio, US) to offer MBA programme in Oman. The maiden batch will start off their academic studies from 28 January onwards.

A number of esteemed professionals from the Government and Private sectors in Oman celebrate the official start of this program, along with David Decker, the president of Franklin University and Christopher Washington, the Provost and vice president for Academic Affairs of Franklin University. Godfrey Mendes, Dean of Global Programs and MCBS officials will also present to commemorate this historic event.

The program is specialized in Resources Management, Finance and Management Information System. Also, students at MCBS, from now on, will have the opportunity to take classes in Franklin University to help them develop a true business leader in themselves. The Franklin University (accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education) is presented all around the world, and provides a set of courses that offers a justly global perspective.

“We are excited about the start of this new MBA program in Oman,” said David Decker. “This program allows Franklin, an institution known for its expertise in providing access to career-relevant education, to challenge students in Oman to leverage their strengths while increasing their ability to think expansively about how the world of commerce operates.”- he added. 

Dr. Badr El Din A. Ibrahim, Dean of MCBS said , “The comprehensive theory-to-Practice curriculum emphasizes analytics, contemporary business communication skills,and social responsibility. It will equip students with skills to build a foundation of practical business strategies and adaptable management skills that are noticed and needed in ever-challenging global marketplace.”


The MBA classes will be taught in English by a combination of Columbus-based Franklin faculty members, travelling to Oman and local faculty members from MCBS.These classes will be held on the campus of Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) in Bausher, Muscat.

Second Pakistani University opens in UAE

Abasyn University RAS AL KHAIMAH, (UAE): One more Pakistani University has started its operations in Ras Al Khaimah with a mission to provide good quality affordable education for Pakistani families living in UAE. Name as “Abasyn University ”, the new educational platform will offer degree courses to the 800 to 1,000 pupils who comes out of Pakistani high schools in the UAE every year. AUS helps rebuild Iraq’s higher education

War-torn Iraq Sharjah: The World Bank and American University of Sharjah (AUS), will host tomorrow, Thursday, May 24, at Lecture Hall A, in the ground floor of the AUs main building, a training course for about 40 senior Iraqi education leaders, on strategic planning and quality assurance in higher education institutions. The nine-day training course is designed to equip Iraqi university representatives involved in strategic planning and quality assurance with the required skills to improve the quality of education offered by higher learning institutions in Iraq as the country works on rebuilding itself as a unified nation. The training is in line with AUS’s strategic goal of becoming the leader in higher education in the Middle East by being able to share its expertise with other countries in the region, especially helping its Arab neighbors such as Iraq achieve its potential.
