Manipal alumni lead Nokia and Microsoft

BANGALORE (India): Two techies, who are Manipal institute of technology aluimnis (MIT) are now leading two of the top Fortune five hundred companies, Nokia and Microsoft.

India-born Rajeev Suri and Satya Nadella are the two former MIT gradutaes who have been chosen lately as the top honchos of reputed global majors viz. Nokia and Microsoft.

Rajeev Suri has been appointed CEO of the $18-billion Nokia - the second Indian to be made head of a major global technology company in less than three months. Satya Nadella was elevated as CEO of Microsoft in February 2014.

Rajeev, a 1989 batch Electronics and Communications graduate of MIT was a year behind Satya (1988Electronics and Communications). "These are not merely fortituous events, but the result of the multi-cultural ambience and professional outlook provided by MIT"- says Dr. Vinod Thomas, Director, MIT.

"Satya and Suri provide strong testimony to the fact that at MIT the emphasis is on holistic development of students. Students who leave the portals of this engineering institute are quality products. Therefore, it is no coincidence or accident that those two MITians have made it big"- Dr. Vinod Thomas added.

Lately MIT has decided to confer an honorary doctorate on its celebrity student Satya Nadella. University Vice Chancellor Ramdas M Pai has said that he has already sent e-mail to Satay informing the intent of the University.

Second Pakistani University opens in UAE

Abasyn University RAS AL KHAIMAH, (UAE): One more Pakistani University has started its operations in Ras Al Khaimah with a mission to provide good quality affordable education for Pakistani families living in UAE.
